So, the news is out in the SEO community that
Wikipedia is again using the NOFOLLOW tag on outbound links. The reason for this is to deny passing any
Google Juice, which is to cut down on the amount of spam I'm sure
Wikipedia has to deal with on a regular basis.
It's a shame for legit sites that have been included organically. Even
Cheezhead, my main blog,
was included. Now, sadly, it doesn't mean much to search engines (except Yahoo!, maybe?).
I'm with
Andy Beal calling for an offensive on
Wikipedia for this move by adding your own NOFOLLOW tag when linking to
Wikipedia. Tit for tat.
